Inspired by the architecture of the visionary Friedensreich Hundertwasser, the owner Steffen Modrach designed (and still designs!) his property into a colorful fantasy world. The facades of the house and yard consist of millions of colorful individual parts, of objects such as cups, buttons and garbage. Again and again you discover new intelligent and humorous details, hands that protrude from the wall or bizarre figures that follow you with their eyes. The large, artistically designed garden is also extremely worth seeing. The owner of the castle is happy to guide visitors through his inspiring realm after making an appointment by telephone.

When you talk about Uebigau Castle, you shouldn't forget the great summer theater in the beautiful castle park. It usually takes place at the end of May or beginning of June. The Broadway musical “Legally Blonde” will be performed in 2024.

The expansive palace complex, located in the heart of the town, is divided into a front and rear palace. The three-story tower, with its gateway, connects both palace sections. The rear palace, in particular, with its arcades, is reminiscent of the Renaissance, whose contemporaries the builders, members of the noble family of the Lords of Dieskau, were. Uebigau Castle is the youngest castle in the Elbe-Elster district and is located in the historic city center of Uebigau. It was built in neo-baroque style and has elements of Art Nouveau. Behind the building is a 19th-century castle park of around two hectares. Today's municipal castle hostel was the main building of the former estate, which received its current appearance after a renovation in 1904.
