Uebigau has been a city since 1303. The market square, which is quite large for the small town, was built in the 15th century. A tour through the historic streets around the market with a view of the detail is definitely worthwhile.

It is a former bourgeois house from 1829, which the city bought in 1853, and made it the town hall, as the predecessor building was burned down.

The historic market square is a traditional square with half-timbered houses, old paving stones, solitary trees (oak), small shops and restaurants. If you are there, please visit the Uebigau Castle in the park right next to it (300 meters).
