The area surrounding Lake Amtssee is characterized by meadows and forests, making it ideal for walks and hikes, such as the lakeside trail, which runs directly along the lake and emphasizes the proximity to the monastery. The region is also a popular destination for nature lovers and hikers, with views from Kleiner Rummelsberg or along the Nettelgraben offering unique perspectives.

There are several hiking trails in the area, including a 1.9-kilometer, easy loop around the lake, which takes about 30 minutes and features botanical highlights and forest sections. Longer walks are also possible, such as the 3-kilometer loop around the Amtssee lake, right next to the monastery.

パペンタイヒにはディ・パペンミューレがあります。建物自体はかつて製粉所ではありませんでした。1875年に建てられ、1905年からはホテル兼レストラン、その後は野戦病院、そして現在は住宅となっています。建物は全体のアンサンブルによく調和しており、本当のアイキャッチャーです。ミューレのある池全体がとても平和に見えます。ただただ美しい。

well signposted, beautiful place

The forest lake, which is around 280 metres long and around 90 metres wide, is around five metres deep at its deepest point. It is located in the northern part of the "Sonnenburger Wald und Ahrendskehle" nature reserve. Formerly known as the Black Pond, it was renamed the Devil's Lake almost 200 years ago. As part of the Hammerthal, there are numerous stories about the lake. Today, you can find numerous beaver tracks around the lake and some beaver lodges. A lawn invites you to linger and the lake itself is of course a great place to cool off.

Well, it doesn't really seem like a swimming lake to me.

The long history of the municipal bathing establishment began when it opened in 1926. This was followed by decades of bathing operations, which continued even during the war and were only temporarily interrupted in the mid-1960s due to necessary renovations. This lasted until the pool was closed in 1992. The renovation that began in 2009 finally ended the devaluation process associated with the long-vacant building.
