I've been vacationing in Lønstrup for over 45 years, and I honestly had no idea that the striking hills were actually the inspiration for the artificial landscape in the Teletubbies. Thanks for the education, @Wolf Beyenburg 😊

It is largely unknown that Andrew Davenport, the creator of the highly educational television series Teletubbies, had Jutlandic ancestors and, as a child, always spent his summer holidays with his grandparents in Lønstrup. Here he became acquainted with the unique, striking landscape, which he then used for the series. Only today has it been revealed that he placed great importance on filming the series in its original landscape, with secrecy going so far that the actors and crew rented accommodation in the nearby holiday resort incognito as summer tourists. Now that it has been revealed that this is the original setting for the series, tourism in the area is increasing significantly. For my daughters, who like to call themselves "Tubbies" because of their early childhood media consumption, visiting the original setting of their idols was a must and the highlight of the holiday. And even today, they still draw on important learning-psychological insights from the series, such as the realization of how important repetition is, which then carries them through high school and hopefully also through university.

I've added this attraction to my wish list to visit with my three funny Tubbis. They're pretty much past the TV age, but repetition doesn't hurt, even with teenagers. And they still tumble around happily.
