リュルツハイムの洞窟・トップ6

「アフェルデルレ」という名前の建物については、今日ではあまり多くはわかっていません。これは中高ドイツ語の「アファルター」（リンゴの木）という言葉に由来しています。それは「失われた城」、「ロストプレイス」であり、見るべきものはあまり残っておらず、確かなことはあまり言えません。かつてこの城は「シュトライトシュタイン」または「シュロス・シュトライツベルク」（1574年にそのように言及）とも呼ばれていたと言われています。おそらく10世紀にヴァイセンブルク修道院によって、ライン川の渡河点であるプフォルツ（マクシミリアンザウ）– クニーリンゲンを守り、ノルマン人やハンガリー人の襲撃から身を守るために建てられたのでしょう。城は元々木と土で造られていましたが、石造になったのは11世紀か12世紀と言われています。それは、強力な環状壁と防御用の堀に架けられた跳ね橋を持つ、モット（丘）型の城でした。このような城はフランスで知られており、「モット」（「土塊」、「山」）と呼ばれています。初期の中世の城のタイプで、主に木造で建てられ、その主な特徴は、通常は塔のような建物がある人工的な土の丘です。

Fronte Beckers This well-preserved part of the fortress, over 250 meters long, impressively illustrates the historical fortification system with its moat defense (horseshoe), the main rampart, the posterns and underground mine galleries. The Germersheim Fortress was built during the reign of King Ludwig I. The foundation stone was laid on October 18, 1834. The fortress was built mostly from red bricks.

Unfortunately, I only drove past. The street museum is right next door. Sounds interesting.

Part of the old city fortifications

The Weissenburg Gate was built according to the plans of the Munich professor Friedrich von Gärtner in 1839 and was one of the two city gates. In addition to the tourism center (with ticket service) and the permanent exhibition on the history of the fortress, this is also the starting point for the exciting city and fortress tours as well as the enjoyable wine tastings.

This was once a mighty French fortress! If you behave yourself you can also cycle through this area, it's worth it.
