The new bridge dimensions are similar to the old ones. Only the construction is different. In the morning hours of September 6, 2015, the covered bridge caught fire again due to the negligence of some young people. Since the bridge is a link between Zimmer and Hintschingen, which is also of great importance for tourist purposes, it quickly became clear that the bridge had to be rebuilt using the same wooden structure. After a construction period of around ten months, the new covered wooden bridge was ceremonially reopened on July 17, 2016 with the blessing of the Church and the public could use it again.
