The arched bridge of the Höllentalbahn, which ran between Triptis and Marxgrün, was in use from 1895 to 1945. After that, the railway line leading to Thuringia was discontinued. The Selbitz Viaduct is now a lost place.

A beautiful wooden bridge worth seeing. There are two wooden bridges in the Höllental Valley. The Jungfernsteg and the Teufelssteg.

This special natural monument was created thousands of years ago. The Steinach River ate deeper and deeper through an extremely hard volcanic rock, which is called “quartz keratophyre”. The Steinachklamm geotope with its steep slopes and the narrow section of the gorge south of Wildenstein is definitely worth seeing.

Once you reach the valley, you cross the Selbitz River over a remarkable wooden bridge, the so-called Devil's Bridge. This is a fantastic experience, especially in autumn, not least because of the wild and romantic atmosphere. The bridge got its name from a folk legend that supposedly took place here.
