城は1356年から1360年の間にカール4世によって建設されました。ニュルンベルクとプラハを結ぶ重要な交易路である「黄金街道」沿いの戦略的に有利な場所に位置していました。カール4世は、この地域における自身の権力主張を強化するために、ここを通過地点の城および居城として利用しました。現在では、ニュルンベルク芸術アカデミーの分校が入居しています。

Until well into the 19th century, Schwaiger Castle was the centre of the small village in the Pegnitz Valley. In September 1992, after renovation, it was given a new purpose as a meeting place and a venue for cultural purposes.

The castle was built in 1534 by the patrician Sebastian Cammerer. In 1815 Johann Kielkalt from Nuremberg bought it and set it up as a restaurant. It is right at the entrance to the town and cannot be missed. https://hallerschloesschen.de/

The Wenzelburg (also: Burg Lauf or Laufer Kaiserburg) is a former imperial residence on an island in the Pegnitz in the Franconian town of Lauf an der Pegnitz in the district of Nürnberger Land.

The Schwaiger Castle was devastated in the Second Margrave War in 1552 and in the Thirty Years' War. The castle was owned by various Nuremberg patrician families. The building was acquired by the Evangelical parish of Behringersdorf in 1952 and then passed to the new parish of Schwaig. In 1972, the municipality of Schwaig bought the castle.
