The Meuschkensmühle is a lovingly restored mill in the heart of the Mühltal valley, surrounded by forest, water, and hiking trails. Once a working mill, it is now a cozy destination with a restaurant, petting zoo, and riding stables.

Be careful, this place is deserted. It's a testament to real tourism in the past...

The Meuschkensmühle offers good gastronomy and the Milo Barus competition (strongest man in the world) takes place here every year on October 3rd.

The fountain is out of service, which is a shame because otherwise it would be a perfect place to stop.

The Stadtkirche St. Johannes dates back to the late Gothic period, the interior, completely renovated between 1754 and 1756, houses a mirrored ceiling supported by marble columns, as well as an ancient taufstein from the 17th century. The organ, created in 1767 by Justinus Ehrenfried Gerhard with subsequent modifications and a restoration in 1996, is a piece of musical history.

The St. John's Church is located on the market square in the town of Bürgel in the Saale-Holzland district of Thuringia. It belongs to the Bürgel parish in the Eisenberg church district of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany.
