On May 8, 1985, Richard Karl Freiherr von Weizsäcker (1920 to 2015, then serving as Federal President) delivered a highly acclaimed speech at a commemorative event marking the 40th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, and his words remain relevant even 40 years later. In the final section of this speech, he addressed both a plea to young people and an appeal to politicians: + "The plea to young people is: Do not allow yourselves to be driven into hostility and hatred toward other people, (...). Learn to live with one another, not against one another. Let us, as democratically elected politicians, also continually heed this and set an example. LET US HONOR FREEDOM. LET US WORK FOR PEACE. Let us abide by the law. Let us serve our inner standards of justice. Let us ... as best we can, look the truth in the eye." (R. v. Weizsäcker)

A beautiful vantage point over the town and the lake. Signposted as "Aubichl Viewpoint." Easily accessible via the Trathweg trail.

The Aibichl viewpoint at an altitude of 861 meters offers a magnificent view of Bad Bayersoien and Lake Soier. However, the ascent and descent are quite steep.

It's worth taking a look.

The chapel is dedicated to the plague saint St. Rochus.
