Until 1806, Triesdorf was the summer residence of the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach and a garrison site. Today the town houses the Triesdorf Agricultural Training Center of the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, whose facilities use a large part of the historic buildings from the time of the Margraves. Triesdorf is the smallest place in Germany where there is a university.

Beautiful old fortress used as a state archive. As far as I know, visits are not possible.

A branch of the Bavarian State Archives is located in the palace building. Visiting the interesting outside area of the fortress is possible at any time. Visiting times from April to October.
