Once a Romanesque basilica, over the years a sprawling Baroque monastery complex with a provost's palace was developed here. The garden was laid out in terraces: the upper terrace forms a typical Baroque garden, while the others slope downwards, offering panoramic views toward Fulda and the Rhön Mountains.
