The "four-arched stone bridge, 1st half of the 18th century" was declared a monument zone in 1985 together with the monastery complex under the name "Monastery Marienstatt southwest of Streithausen". See: https://www.kuladig.de/Object-View/KLD-290380

The famous trade route, the Cologne-Leipzig road, once led over this historic monastery bridge. Coming from Altenkirchen, the route led from Kroppach through a ford across the Nister near Heuzert to Marienstatt Abbey and on via Hachenburg to Kirburg and finally to Leipzig.

It can be doubted that the RTL production “Demon Wedding” was a high point in the 800-year history of the castle. The symbol of the municipality of Windeck in the Siegtal has seen completely different things since it was first mentioned in 1174 as “Castrum novum in windeke”. The castle was destroyed several times in later centuries and threatened to deteriorate completely before the Siegkreis had the Palas wall rebuilt and the keep secured in the 1960s. A nice old bridge to many sights.

The ascent to the "summit" is worth it - the path is very beautiful, natural and the view from above is simply fantastic - as is the entire World Heritage nature trail. Good shoes and especially good surefootedness in wet weather are advantageous ;-).
