The Protestant town church in Fürstenberg an der Havel is a brick church. It belongs to the parish of Fürstenberg / Havel in the Neustrelitz provostship in the Mecklenburg church district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany and is an open church.

During a vacation on the Mecklenburg Lake District, we also visited the town of Fürstenberg (Havel). Of course, we also stopped by the local Fürstenberg (Havel) train station. The Fürstenberg (Havel) train station has a well-maintained reception building and three platform tracks with a main platform and a central platform. Anyone who sees the painted half-timbered church in Dabelow can hardly escape its idiosyncratic charm. On the one hand, the church, consecrated in 1855, with its western entrance portal and wooden tower top, looks like an Orthodox Russian wooden church, but on the other hand, the Gothic influence in the building designed by court architect Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel is unmistakable. Light beams frame compartments that are lined with red and black clinker bricks. The church radiates a playful lightness and makes you curious to see what it looks like inside. Blue, white and ochre are the dominant colors here. The contemporary interior consists essentially of the altar, pulpit, pews and west gallery as well as a panel painting. A stencil painting inspired by the Gothic style decorates the walls in the nave and chancel. A few meters south of the church is the cemetery. In front of the cemetery stands the war memorial in memory of those who died in the First World War.
