A stay in a manor house is a perfect complement to a cycling tour through Western Pomerania. I felt very comfortable in this owner-operated manor house. Good to know: A good breakfast is provided. For all other meals, you are self-catering, as restaurants are "not really within easy reach" after a day's cycling.

The town hall in Grimmen in Western Pomerania is one of the testimonies of medieval brick Gothic architecture. Dendrochronological examinations of the wooden roof structure determined the felling date of the oldest rafters: 1393. It is therefore assumed that the tree dates from around 1400.

The Mühlentor in Grimmen, also called Tribseer Tor, is an impressive brick gate from around 1325/30. It was once part of the city fortifications and secured the road to Tribsees. Striking plaster panels, a steep gable roof with stepped gables and traces of an earlier drawbridge make it an impressive historical building.
