The Neckar Loop and Mundelsheim are worth a visit, as this striking river loop offers one of the most beautiful vantage points in Württemberg. From the Käsberg pulpit, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Neckar Valley, the steep vineyard terraces, and picturesque Mundelsheim. The Käsberg Trail leads along narrow paths through this unique cultural landscape, past dry-stone walls, orchards, and Mediterranean flora. In the historic town center, half-timbered houses, St. Kilians Church with its late Gothic frescoes, and the museum in the Stiftsscheuer (collegiate barn) invite you to explore. The visit is rounded off with a wine tasting in the Käsberg Cellar.

Whether on the Neckar Valley Cycle Path, the Käsberg General Path or the Panorama Path, the Neckar Loop always cuts a fine figure.

The Hüttenwaldschlucht in Spiegelberg is a beautiful, unspoilt stream valley in the Swabian-Franconian Forest. It is known for its striking sandstone rock faces, semi-caves and a small waterfall. The path through the gorge is narrow and slippery in wet weather, so sturdy footwear is required. It offers hikers a scenic and romantic experience. There are also rope-secured trail sections at dangerous spots to ensure hikers' safety

Everyone talks about the Saarschleife - here in Mundelsheim the Neckarschleife is much nicer - Really!

The Mundelsheim Neckar loop is one of the most impressive Neckar loops still in existence today (once, many thousands of years ago, the Neckar made further loops and washed out further curvy slopes, such as at Gundelsheim or even further down at Minneburg), the vineyard slopes are staggered to form an impressive wall and are aligned towards the sun like a parabolic mirror. In summer, on hot days, it gets almost unbearably hot in the vineyards. If you have the time and inclination, drive along the Trollinger Straße up the panoramic path halfway up to the Königshäusle, the impressive and far-visible stately Wängertshäusle of the Herzog von Württemberg winery, built by the former King of Württemberg. From here you have a wonderful view over the Neckar valley and the Neckar loop and get a feel for the steep vineyard slopes and the effort involved in cultivating them. If you plan it well, you can take a bottle of VDP wine at the foot of the mountain, at the last farm in the village, before heading to the vineyards, and enjoy the wonderful view and location up here. Unfortunately, it is a dead end and you have to roll back down, but the Käsberg is worth all the effort.

It's nice and quiet during the week, but there's a lot of traffic here on weekends and public holidays.

Drainage of the lake began at the end of 2020. The Breitenauer See flood retention basin must undergo an in-depth safety inspection as required by law. To do this, all of the water had to be drained so that all safety-relevant systems could be examined and repaired. Even when empty, there are interesting insights to be gained. Water is now being filled in again (as of December '21) and is almost full again (As of Nov '22).
