The Kotzenloch geological outcrop impressively showcases the rock layers of the Upper Gipskeuper. Particularly striking are the variously colored mudstones and light gray dolomites exposed by erosion.

The name "Kotzenloch" was originally "Fossenloch" in earlier centuries. In 1827, this name was changed to Kozenloch. The syllable -loch comes from the old terms "lach" or "loche," meaning "district boundary" (here between Feuerbach and Weilimdorf). In 1900, the Feuerbach Beautification Association constructed the descent from the Hornkopf. Since then, these steps have provided the best view of the rock layers of the marl pit.

The Kotzenloch is an old marl pit. A beautifully curved staircase helps with the arduous ascent.

A peaceful valley with no traffic noise, easy to reach even by train, if you are lucky you can stop off at Besen Trefz.

Pure nature in the Buchenbach Valley. Simply nice to go by the river for a long time.

This section is well developed and a dream for racing cyclists! But be careful, there is a lot going on here at the weekend when the weather is good. Although there is sometimes a separate pedestrian path, you may have to go slalom here. Therefore, I recommend that you tackle this route during the week or on the weekend, especially early in the morning or late in the evening.
