Blown up by the Germans in 1945. Until a few years ago, about 30 meters of the bridge were still standing. It has since been demolished. The water police station is now located on the access road (the former bridge approach).

It is always nice to walk along the Rhine and watch the ships or enjoy the weather.

When I was young, I did my freestyle swimming here at the Gernsheim swimming lake. I was able to pick up my certificate and badge at the DLRG hut. Bronze (freestyle swimming) Formerly known as freestyle swimming, the bronze badge is still the first official proof that the child can swim safely. The swimming badge is entered in the German swimming pass - and of course there is also a patch!
