Windsheim craftsmen built the town hall between 1713 and 1717 under the Ansbach master mason Johann Michael Aspacher and his foreman Giovanni Rigaglia. In the 18th century, Wildbad was one of the most important spa towns in Europe. It served as a health and recreation resort for the Margraves of Ansbach. The healing waters were already known in the time of Charlemagne, around 800 AD. Seven springs, whose waters were used to cure a wide variety of ailments, rise here over a length of approximately 100 meters.
