The Marienbrunnen splashes in front of the Friedberg town hall. The Marian column was erected by the citizens of Friedberg in 1599 out of gratitude for being saved from the plague. The figure of the Madonna, the Patrona Bavariae, stands on the high, slender column of the fountain. The fountain dates back to 1788. Two flanking figures - they embody the apostles Peter and James - were added in 1906.
