As part of the newly created Wichtelweg, the Wichtelloch has been renovated and the bridge has been recently restored. The ascent and descent are a little difficult as the steps are quite high, but both are still doable. The Wichtelloch itself is cordoned off and a wooden plaque tells the legend that surrounds this place.

Two benches and the hut itself invite you to take a short rest.

On the Wichtelweg, a few yellow trail markers point to the abandoned quarry.

Not far from the Hopfenhöhle you have a great view of the whole of Obergrenzebach.

Today, the hop cave contained no hop brew, only an empty crate testified to the former existence of the said brewery end product.

Now in late autumn the hut is covered with colorful foliage.

A beautiful dense forest.
