A very beautiful lake. Be careful on the lake circuit, the opposite side of the inn, has stairs/ledges/stone passages (not suitable for strollers) Especially not for wheelchair users.

Magnificent view of the Scheffauer summit

The circular route on the southern shore of the Hintersteiner See is approx. 2 km long and runs along a path that is partly secured with railings, mostly at the edge of the forest. The turquoise blue water and the view of the massif of the Kaisergebirge (including Scheffauer 2111m) form an impressive alpine backdrop. NOTE: The path repeatedly has significant inclines, appropriate footwear is recommended.

Again and again beautiful views of the lake. On the side with the road there are also many barriers and prohibition signs.

One of the few places where you can get directly to the lake shore. Great perspectives at this point.

The ascent to the Hechtsee is a bit strenuous, but you are rewarded with a beautiful view.

On the south bank the path climbs a little and offers wonderful views of the turquoise blue water of the crystal clear mountain lake. The north shore of the lake is accessible to everyone thanks to a driveway.

The Hintersteiner See is a mountain lake in the Wilder Kaiser nature reserve and belongs to the municipality of Scheffau in the Austrian state of Tyrol. The lake was formed during the last ice age and is located at an altitude of 882 m above sea level. A. Underground springs fill the lake with crystal clear water.
