The hiking trail is characterized by a varied landscape. The benches, especially along the ridge, are in good condition and well-placed. The final descent, with its switchbacks, is particularly special.

The beautiful historic half-timbered town hall in Treffurt was built in the Renaissance style between 1546 and 1559. The five-story half-timbered tower was added in 1616.

Treffurt has a beautiful, intact old town center. It also boasts several castles. A tour of the old town is definitely worthwhile. The town's name dates back to three Werra fords: Driefurt.

The pillory is somewhat hidden between two houses. To the left of the pillory is a small castle that stood at the former Falcon Gate. No remains of this gate remain.

The cozy town hall square invites you to stop for a bite to eat at the Ratskeller or the ice cream parlor. Both are open all day and open at 12 noon.

The rounded bridge spans the Werra, which is wide here and can be beautifully viewed from the bridge.
