Belvedere Museum Vienna | 300 years of the Belvedere In 2023, the Belvedere will celebrate the 300th anniversary of its construction. The summer residence of Vienna's most famous general, Prince Eugene of Savoy, was built over a period of ten years: in 1723, the complex was finally completed with the completion of the Upper Palace. History of the Belvedere The unique ensemble with the two palaces, the Upper and Lower Belvedere, and the extensive garden is one of the most beautiful baroque buildings in the world. This section of the route is often used on my big Liesing tour, it's quite nice, partly sandy and usually very busy on the Liesing Bach promenade. But you'll also find several cozy places to stop for a bite to eat, a playground and lots of benches, but the highlight is cooling off in the Liesing. And during strawberry season there's a stall in Kledering.
