Well-paved and empty roads

The expansive panorama over the Kiel Fjord showcases both at their best. There's always something to marvel at here. Be it the calm sea, the sunrise from the west shore or the sunset from the east shore, the maritime activity on the water, or the large ships approaching the lock, and so on 💙...

Unfortunately, you can't get to the lock from this side.

The Side is located directly on the bike route. Unfortunately, the asphalt is already cracking in places. A huge roof terrace covers the entire west side, open in the summer. It's a very comfortable place to sit.

Definitely worth a detour!

Anyone cycling along Cycle Route 10 from Citti Park to the Nordfriedhof cemetery will discover colorful graffiti in various places. Particularly striking is the elongated facade of a commercial building just before the bridge over Olshausenstraße. A large number of artists left their colorful and imaginative traces there, creating an open-air gallery that invites exploration.

This is the main fire station of the professional fire department of the state capital Kiel. The Kiel Fire Department was founded in 1896 and currently operates three fire stations, including the new north station in Holtenau. It maintains several fire engines with modern emergency vehicles and also serves the city through nine rescue stations with a total of 14 ambulances, three emergency rescue vehicles, and specialty vehicles such as a baby emergency rescue vehicle. It responds to tens of thousands of calls annually – from firefighting to intensive care transport.
