The Seethalerhütte on the Dachstein is located at 2,740 m, making it the highest mountain hut in Upper Austria. Surrounded by the eternal ice of the Dachstein glacier, the hut is located in a breathtaking setting and offers a wonderful view of the mountains all the way to the Großglockner. Delicious food, friendly service, great panoramic windows in the dining room and a beautiful sun terrace with a mountain panorama. What more could you want?? Oh, and you can also stay overnight 😉. Very good food and Stiegl as a beer 😍 nice end to the via ferrata.

Great place to stop after a long day on the via ferrata with delicious Kaiserschmarrn!

The first hut was built on this site in 1929 and managed by Sepp Seethaler for 50 years. The new hut, planned by Dreiplus Architekten from Innsbruck, was opened at the end of 2018.

Very large Alpenvereinshaus with hot meals, self-service on the terrace. Good starting point for further hikes.
