Largest German Alpine Club hut with 200 overnight beds. Best starting point for the Watzmann crossing (the long tour is shortened by around 1200 meters of ascent and around 3 hours). Good place to stay before crossing the Watzmann

The hike from Salet past the Obersee and the Fischunkelalm to the Röthbachfall was an absolute highlight! The lake with its clear water and the great reflections and the picturesque mountain backdrop leaves you speechless and amazed. We didn't stop at the alpine pasture because there were too many people there, but then we got lost on the paths. A stop is definitely worth it because you can enjoy fresh products there. We'll definitely be back!
