From a distance, Grebenstein Castle looks like a massive box atop a steep hill. Essentially, only the ruins of the palace remain of the castle, but these tower high and are surrounded by imposing walls.

Inside the ruins of Grebenstein Castle's palace, you can climb steel stairs along the walls all the way to the top of the ramparts. The view over the town of Grebenstein and the surrounding countryside is beautiful! 👍

The castle gate is part of the overall well-preserved medieval town fortifications of Grebenstein and provides access to the castle through the town walls.

This bridge is not a covered wooden bridge. It was probably confused with the bridge south of Bergshausen. That one is truly beautiful.
