Freshly renovated, reasonable prices, a great atmosphere, and even hot water. When it's cool outside, they heat it with wood. The food is excellent!

An ideal stopover on the ascent to the Hochkönig. Fantastic panorama, also a beautiful final destination on a hike. Walking time from Werfen is approximately 3 hours.

The Mitterfeldalm welcomes you in a scenic location at the foot of the impressive almond walls. There are delicious, homemade specialties and a shady garden with a view of the Tennengebirge and the Hohe Tauern. There are 25 camping sites available for overnight stays. The Werfener Hut is closed. However, there is a fridge with drinks for a fee.

Hut newly renovated in 2023 with a very friendly, courteous team, a smart hut landlady and very clean rooms!!! I can only recommend a visit or overnight stay!!!

The hut is closed until further notice. You can still buy drinks in the outdoor camp (trusted cash register). The toilet is also open.
