The Mitterkaseralm is a popular stop on the Jenner adventure mountain. Mountaineers can be found up here taking a break, but leisurely hikers who have conquered the mountain with the Jennerbahn and are going down to the valley on foot also like to stop here. And in winter, skiers meet at the Mitterkaser. The locals call the Mitterkaser Klaus Maxei, after the host family, who - with interruptions - have managed the hut for generations. From the Königssee, the hike to the Mitterkaser leads first via the Hochbahn-Weg to the Königsbachalm and from there to the Wasserfallalm near the middle station of the Jennerbahn. The hike finally leads via the ravine to the Mitterkaseralm. The Witerweg can be taken on the paved but steep path to the Jennerbahn mountain station and then on to the Jenner summit. The descent can be managed with the cable car or on foot on the hiking trail over the Königsbachalm.

If you are out here with snowshoes, you can take a little rest on one of the numerous benches.

The Königsbachalm - the home of the marmots Keep an eye out for all the marmots who live here on your hiking trip or from the Jennerbahn, whose caves are surprisingly close to the hiking trails. Don't forget your camera, because you will find more than enough photo opportunities here. So you take a little piece of Bavaria home with you from the tours. The cute little animals are eye-catchers at the Königsbachalm, so that guided marmot hikes are organized regularly. Are you drawn deeper into the beautiful mountain world? Then choose the Königsbachalm as an intermediate destination before you set off on the way to the Gotzenalm, the Priesbergalm and Büchsenalm or to the Schneibsteinhaus. The tour to the Gotzenalm in particular is a highlight for hikers who are fit. To do this, turn off at the right-hand side of the Königsbachalm and come to the Gotzentalalm or Gotzenalm.

The Alm is actually picturesque in the high valley behind the Jenner and in front of the Hoher Brett. Unfortunately, the beautiful area is quite disfigured by the human infrastructure (snow cannons, mountain railways, also the new railway station right next to the Alm).
