The route from Lapenscharte to Greizer Hütte is very beautiful, more of a hiking trail almost to the gap. Only the last few meters of altitude are over gravel/boulders. On the other side, the route to the Kasseler Hütte is much more challenging.

The direct route from the Tuxer Fernerhaus is still marked on maps, but has probably been closed for years. A few meters lower, from the Spannagelhaus, a well-passable path leads through gravel and occasional old snow fields to the gap.

The Friesenbergscharte "separates" the Tuxer Tal from the Zamser Grund. The climb is worth it for the beautiful view alone!

The view from the Friesenbergscharte to Hintertux is frightening. This major construction site in particular gives an idea of how tourists will soon be swarming there. The view towards the Friesenberghaus is beautiful. Here it goes quite steeply downhill over a rope-secured path.

Nice stony scramble from the Spannagelhaus to the Friesenbergscharte. Then rope insured back down towards Friesenberghaus. The gap is 2,904 meters high between the Hoher Riffler and the Gefrorene Wand peaks. Amazing view from above!
