Great section on the Ruhr

If you go behind the hut to the water you will find a bench with a view of the water

Personally, I think this is one of the most beautiful sections of the Ruhr Valley Cycle Route. It invites you to simply dismount, sit by the Ruhr and let your thoughts wander. It is also a good place to take a break.

This dam is simply impressive. And it is unimaginable that it was destroyed by a bomb attack and then quickly repaired. On the north side of the wall there is a memorial stone for all the victims who died in the attack or the tsunami, but also for the victims who died during the reconstruction.
