What a fantastic rest stop, with a magnificent view of the Alps to the south and the Black Forest with a view of the Feldberg to the north. Plus, a bench and a lounger.

A little before the viewing point on the Albsteig, in Wolpadingen you can still take a drink with you from Jacob's "Wander Drive In". A small table in front of a building with drinks and a donation box, a small sign next to it indicates this. I came by myself in October, when there was this very nice opportunity for hikers. 🙂

With its impressive height of 30 meters and a viewing platform at 16 meters, it towers into the Hotzenwald sky. Once you've climbed the spiral staircase with its 90 steps, you're rewarded with a spectacular view stretching all the way to the Swiss Alps on a clear day. In summer, the Gugelstüble invites you to relax on its large sun terrace or in its cozy interior.

Place of pilgrimage, health resort etc - the village has a lot to offer

This summit cross is at an altitude of 1100m. You have a great view in all directions. In the north you can see Herzogenhorn, Feldberg and Seebuck, among others. In the south the Swiss Alps🇨🇭. There is an orientation board in both directions. There are several benches and a wellness lounger available for your enjoyment. If you walk along the “Ilbacher Panoramaweg” you are at its highest point.

The Lehenkopf, which is 1,039 meters above sea level, is complemented by the 18-meter-high tower, which offers a reasonable view of the southern Black Forest landscape. It is a good stopover on the Schluchtensteig long-distance hiking trail or for tours between St. Blasien and the viewpoints over Urberg or on the Bildsteinfelsen or to the monastery pond near Horbach etc.
