Today a protected natural monument and important local recreation area, it was once a fire-fighting water reservoir, later it served as an ice lake for breweries and as a body of water for fish farming.

Beautiful local recreation area, with the Paulinensee having its own charm in every season. Especially in autumn, the colorful trees are beautifully reflected on the mostly smooth water surface. Various seating areas are available, and several hiking trails also pass by here (including the Mönsheimer Gipfeltour).

The Hölzersee, as an extensive natural monument, exudes peace and closeness to nature and invites you to take a break together with the fisherman's hut, which is served on weekends.

The Paulinensee is probably the most popular local recreation area in the area. Not only for the locals but also for foreigners. Both the outdoor pool and the football field attract young and old alike on days off. Many beautiful paths offer visitors the opportunity to take a leisurely walk or a long hiking tour. The benches along the paths invite you to rest and linger, and the barbecue area by the lake is ideal for a longer break. The 5 kilometer long forest nature trail is particularly suitable for jogging or walking. Even in winter it won't be boring at Paulinensee, because then you can go on a great sleigh ride on the forest nature trail and then race down the meadow slope behind the outdoor pool.

Good resting place even when the fishing hut is not open. If the fishing hut is open, it is an ideal place to fortify yourself for a longer tour.

Two lakes from the 1996 State Garden Show, surrounded by park-like grounds. Böblingen is anything but a pretty town. But here by the lake, it's quite lovely and pleasant enough. 😊
