The place to be for many younger Bambergers... this is where people meet, drink a beer and linger. This summer there was a beer garden on the lower bridge for the first time, which was well received. The lower bridge can currently be viewed "in person" again....

The old town hall is one of the most original town halls in Germany. It was built on "neutral" ground with imaginative architecture in the middle of the Regnitz as the border of the bourgeois island town and the spiritual centers. It was first mentioned in 1386. The Upper Bridge is probably the oldest bridge in Bamberg. It was originally the only bridge over the left arm of the Regnitz.

From my point of view, the old town hall in Bamberg is "the highlight" of the Main Cycle Path and is not directly on the route. The short detour to the city is definitely worth it.
