The Greifenbach reservoir is one of the oldest dams in Germany. It dams the Rote Wasser stream. Today it is a local recreation area.

A beautiful sandy beach, pleasantly clean air, excellent water quality, and two spacious lawns make the hearts of all sun worshippers and water lovers beat faster. The Greifenbachstauweiher pond is a popular holiday and recreation center and excursion destination at the foot of the Greifensteine.

Returning along the drainage ditch, we see the remains of the ore-crushing and washing plant and the refining station. Mining was carried out here, and the extracted raw materials were processed. Now completely overgrown with vegetation, we explore the area. Continuing along the path, we leave the drainage ditch after a while. We reach the Röhrgraben, which originated in the mid-14th century. Artificially created, the water still flows through it for 4.9 km from the Greifenbach stream to the Sauberg mining area. The path is wet, the forest lush green, and we walk against the flow, accompanied by the rippling water. Meanwhile, the sun repeatedly glimmers through the trees.
