Fantastically beautiful castle. The mega highlight of this tour stage for me.

The pond landscapes are an absolutely idyllic gem. Nature at its best. Otherwise, the castle is privately owned.

The Heimat- und Verkehrsverein Stadt Blankenberg e.V. maintains two museums, the Tower Museum in the Katharinentor and the Wine Museum in the Runenhaus. With these facilities, an attempt is made to demonstrate and illustrate life in the past in the city of Blankenberge. This offer was accepted by numerous visitors and received praise. Many guests have already climbed the tower, entered the former wine cellar and enjoyed the wonderful panoramic view and the objects on display and the explanations. Entrance to the Weinbaumuseum Turmmuseum Katharinenturm The voluntary museum team (Margret Joachim, Wolfgang Müller, Dr. Peter Böhm, Erich Bornheim and Prof. Dr. Helmut Fischer) strives to clean, maintain, expand and keep the museums open and to look after visitors. The museums are open on Sundays from April to the end of October from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Weather-related opening times apply from October to March. Historical tours through the museums and through the castle, town and church are offered as required. For example, the historical association for the Lower Rhine and the old archdiocese of Cologne, the oldest large historical association in the Rhineland, were introduced to the history of the city of Blankenberg. Impressive castle complex, especially when you first saw it from the valley. Unfortunately not always accessible.

Converted into a museum, the local history museum is now in the tower. The entire castle complex and the city can be viewed there as a model.
