Every year the Land Partie takes place on the grounds of Lembeck Castle. At five, the castle immerses itself in a world of garden, living and fashion. The castle complex does not open again until Easter. Admission €4.50 for adults. Children from 3 years €3.

Westerholt Castle is located in the southeast of the so-called "Old Village of Westerholt". It is a moated castle in the Westerholt district of Herten on the edge of the Westerholt Forest. The moated complex is still the ancestral seat of the Westerholt family of counts, who were first mentioned here in 1193 and later called themselves "Westerholt zu Gysenberg". Westerholt Castle, along with Herten Castle, is one of the most important castle complexes in the former Vest Recklinghausen. A fortified complex was mentioned here as early as the middle of the 14th century, but nothing remains of this old castle except for the moats.

Herten Castle is a moated castle on the western edge of downtown Herten in the Recklinghausen district. It lies in the middle of an old English landscape garden and was first mentioned in 1376.

The main entrance is on Wulfener Straße. An imposing building that is privately owned. The entrance fees allow it to be maintained and kept in good condition.

They are one of the most important noble families in Vest Recklinghausen. The Imperial Counts' family belonged to the so-called high nobility. Westerholt is an idyll in the Ruhr area, where time seems to stand still, and is therefore an attraction for tourists and residents of the region."

Beautifully idyllic. Some of the houses are lovingly decorated, a gem.

The café on the left, before the actual castle, offers an outdoor terrace. I personally enjoyed the cake very much, and the prices were reasonable.
