A great place. For a small fee, you can climb the rocks if you're not afraid of heights. You can also celebrate Walpurgis Night here. There's also a beautiful small lake next to it.

For centuries, a hilltop castle stood atop Falkenberg in the Teutoburg Forest, one of the largest medieval dynastic castles in Westphalia. Falkenburg Castle once served as the seat of power in Lippe. But that was a long time ago. Before excavations began in 2004, Falkenburg Castle was just an inconspicuous ruin, a popular destination for Sunday family outings and hikes. No one would have guessed back then that such an impressive and imposing castle complex lay hidden underground. It was all the more wonderful to see how these ruins grew year after year, revealing their secrets. You can find more detailed information here: https://www.falkenburg-lippe.de/

The Hermannsdenkmal is a colossal statue near the district of Hiddesen in the area of the city of Detmold in North Rhine-Westphalia in the southern Teutoburg Forest. It was built between 1838 and 1875 according to designs by Ernst von Bandel and inaugurated on August 16, 1875. The monument is intended to commemorate the Cheruscan prince Arminius, in particular the so-called battle in the Teutoburg Forest, in which Germanic tribes under his leadership inflicted a decisive defeat on the three Roman legions XVII, XVIII and XIX under Publius Quinctilius Varus in the year 9. With a figure height of 26.57 meters and a total height of 53.46 meters, it is the tallest statue in Germany and was the tallest statue in the western world from 1875 until the Statue of Liberty was built in 1886.

The Falkenburg ruins in Teuto are a ruined castle in the Detmold district. The former hilltop castle was built from around 1190 and was abandoned in the first half of the 16th century. The Falkenburg, which is a protected archaeological monument, has been examined by an archaeological excavation team since April 2005.
