Built in the early Renaissance period between 1539 and 1543, the Old Town Hall is today the landmark of the city of Weiden. A town hall stood here as early as 1400, but burned down to its foundations in 1536. While the new town hall, subsequently constructed by master builder Hans Nopl, served the administration on the upper floors, the ground floor housed sixteen shops. Since the construction of the New Town Hall in 1978, a city council meeting has been held here only once a year. It is also used for weddings and special receptions. Shops still house the ground floor today. A remarkable carillon chimes daily at 11:35 a.m. and 4:35 p.m.

Built between 1539 and 1548 by master builder Hans Nopl, master carpenter Hans Stieber and stonemason Andreas Falk, the Old Town Hall in the centre of Weiden's beautiful old town has lost none of its historical charm thanks to extensive renovation between 1914 and 1917. The beamed ceiling in the large meeting room is particularly impressive, a work of craftsmanship from the 16th century. A special feature of the building's facade is the sonorous carillon facing the Upper Market, which has been delighting the people of Weiden musically since 1983. Every day at 11:35 a.m. and 4:35 p.m. you can hear a selection of songs from the repertoire of 99 works. The Old Town Hall used to serve not only as an administrative building, but was also the centre of social life in the town. Many theatre and dance events also took place here.

The Rauhe Kulm rises 682 metres high from the middle of the landscape and is visible from all directions. It is surrounded by the Fichtel Mountains to the north, the Steinwald to the east, the heights of the Franconian Jura to the south and the Franconian Switzerland to the west. It owes its striking shape to its volcanic origins around 20 million years ago. The exposed basalt slopes are a valuable habitat for numerous animals and rare plants. Around 90 different lichens and mosses grow and thrive on the heat-storing basalt boulders. The Rauhe Kulm has been protected as a natural monument since 1909 and has been a nature reserve in accordance with European standards (FFH) for several years. In 2013, the Rauhe Kulm was voted Germany's most beautiful natural wonder.

On the west side from the log cabin to the south runs the bank path, which is very rustic and natural. The Goldsteig, a popular long-distance hiking trail, runs from Falkenstein to the Blockhütte on the east side and from the hut on the west side. The surrounding paths are great for walking around.

The table stone is really impressive. Crossing the Naab is easily possible here due to the many boulders in the water. The bank path leads past the rocks, which is why you can look at the table stone from there. Small plants and moss grow on the table.
