With a height of 832 meters, it offers a panoramic view that extends as far as the Alps in clear weather. The summit is a popular starting point for hang gliders and paragliders, who enjoy the thermals and the spectacular views. The distance from the summit to the border of the Regen district is around 30 meters and around 500 meters to the Straubing-Bogen district, according to Wikipedia. A beautiful summit cross and a fantastic view.

The Rauher Kulm natural forest reserve was established around the summit in 1995 with an area of 76.8 hectares. It lies at an altitude of 830 to 1050 meters on rock and block soils and serves to preserve mixed mountain forests, beech forests and scree forests.
