Apparently in 2025 it has reopened. Open Thursday to Tuesday 10:00 til 16:30, with warm food until 16:00. Closed on Wednesdays. (In November 2024 it was being completely rebuilt so was closed.)

Here you have a wonderful view of Schönau and Berchtesgaden. The Watzmann is enthroned on the other side.

The ascent was worth it, great landscape, unforgettable. It's a bit crowded at the top.

The climb here is worth it because of the great view. In the alpine pasture you can reward yourself for your exertions with a drink and perhaps something high in calories for your stomach. 😏

Around the Kranzberg is a very beautiful low mountain range, which with its narrow network of paths invites you to enjoy very nice, short hikes. In addition, there are postcard views of the Wetterstein chain and across Mittenwald to the Karwendel ridge.
