A great destination for families in summer and especially in autumn. The paths are easy to walk and well developed - in summer you can swim, in autumn you can enjoy the colorful foliage. It can be busy, the Eibsee is a well-known destination.

Also very nice in winter. The path is prepared for a winter hike and is very easy to walk.
There is plenty of seating along the lake with great views and lots of rubbish bins.

We were at the lake first thing in the morning. There were hardly any people there and it was very quiet and idyllic. We can only recommend using the hiking car park on the road up to the visitor car park. This is free and the path through the forest leads directly to the circular path around the Eibsee. It's just beautiful there and you can swim well, even if the water is really cold.
