The Hackenberger Mill in Saarburg is a 13th-century mill museum that is open seasonally. The season begins April 13th and is open from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The entrance is located below the waterfall in Staden. The museum offers, among other things, a new listening tour and a detailed model of the mill.

A stunning waterfall in the middle of the city. What other city can boast such an attraction? You feel as if you've been transported back hundreds of years, and a knight should appear around the next corner.

After a beautiful and peaceful bike ride along the Saar River, the small town of Saarburg, overcrowded with tourists, is a bit of a turn-off, as beautiful as it is. Tip: If it's crowded, take photos and move on.

Let yourself be carried away by this beautiful city with its small river (the Leuk) which crosses the old town and the square where the terraces are legion, and of course this superb waterfall which feeds old mills and this water joins the Saar below

I do not know to what extent the old traditions that there was a cult site from Germanic times at this point in the stream valley can be proven archaeologically. It is probably no coincidence that the sign on the hiking trail speaks of this possibility in the subjunctive.

Saarburg is definitely worth a visit. Don't just drive past if you've never been there, but take a look. It's a really beautiful little town!
