The Storman County Fire Department headquarters supports the county's 85 fire departments in the maintenance, care, and testing of firefighting equipment. Particularly striking is the enormous solar array on the large hose tower, commissioned in 2013.

Admittedly, the Kleiner Segeberger See can't compete with the Großer Segeberger See. Nevertheless, the lake is located at the foot of the Kalkberg mountain, and the short circular path around it is like a small oasis of peace in the middle of the city. Watching the ducks and soaking up the sun on one of the benches is a great way to enjoy a moment of peace. Opened again in May 2025 after the path was closed in 2018. Pioneers from the Lettow-Vorbeck Barracks built the so-called Soldiers' Bridge in the 1970s. Soldiers used the bridge as a shortcut on their way to the southern part of the city. Today, the bridge is part of the Mönchsweg long-distance hiking trail.
