Medieval town by the Avon. Plenty to see.

Italian gardens and nice cafe. Bikes welcome.

the point at which the Kennet and Avon canal crossed the river and railway line via the Aqueduct built by John Rennie & John Thomas between 1797 and 1801. Good pub here which will reopen summer 2025. This is on the main railway line now becoming a regular (request?) stop since 2011

Iford Manor itself was closed when I walked here, but it was such a lovely walk, I will be heading back to go into the grounds & onwards to visit Farleigh Castle when I have time. There is some really beautiful countryside all around the area, it's worth exploring

This is (I believe) the oldest Tithe barn in either the South West, or the county?! I cant remember 🤦‍♀️ so not much help!! BUT, it's definitely worth poking your head in, it is a lovely space and you can sort of feel the past, and I love that.

Cracking beer garden

It was extremely flooded when I went, but of course this doesn't happen all year!! Make sure to check out the tithe barn, and the absolutely stunning Saxon church!

Constructed in approximately 1800, the Somerset Coal Canal was a slender waterway in England. Its course commenced at Paulton and Timsbury, where it connected to basins, and extended to Camerton. You'll find 22 locks in total along the canal, and here is number 16.
