ターンハウズのおすすめ登山＆山歩きルート

起伏する尾根に沿った素晴らしい山々。よく踏まれた道から始まり、北側では岩の間を登るのが楽しい。より長い散策には、Pike of BliscoやBow Fellと組み合わせて、Scafells、Coniston fells、Langdalesを見渡す素晴らしい山の1日を楽しんでください。

レイクランドで最高の登りの一つ。バンドの頂上近くで分岐するクライマーズトラバースを通り、素晴らしい山の景色と偉大なスラブを十分に堪能してください。晴れた日には頂上からの息をのむような眺め。エスクパイクまたはヘルギル経由で戻り、夏には涼むためのたくさんのプールがあります。

Stickle Ghyll is one of the most popular locations for Ghyll Scrambling/Gorge Walking in the Lake District. There is over 2 kilometres to explore, with pools to wade through, waterfalls to climb and a number of deep pools - one of which is deep enough to jump into. (Lakes Outdoors Experience)

Best place to start you visit to the Lake District if you are into hiking, climbing or cycling. Beware that phone signal is always spotty in this valley. If you are using electronic navigation, make sure you have downloaded the maps before you set of. And if you are meeting friends, make sure you agree on the location and time ahead of time as you may not be able to update with mobile phone. Also, take plenty of coins for car-park as you may not be able to pay online due to the lack of signal.

Always a pleasure to stay at the Old Dungeon Ghyll for a week-end in the Langdales. An iconic institution amongst mountaineers and a favourite amongst walkers and hikers visiting the area. You don't have to stay at the hotel to enjoy the walkers' bar and enjoy a pint with a delicious pie. You'll often find someone taking a an instrument and give a jam performance. One thing to be aware of is that mobile signal in the valley is usually really poor and the wifi at the property spotty. If you are looking for a place to see, be seen and regularly post on social media; this is not the place 😆 But if you are after a week-end of hiking, climbing or cycling and mingling with like-minded outdoor enthusiasts I could not think of a better place.
