Errisberg sits overlooking the North Atlantic with stunning, panoramic views out to sea of the Roundstone bog and Dog's Bay. Inland, well, on a good day, you can catch sight of the Twelve Bens. At only 300 metres high, Errisberg is not that high, but it’s big on attitude, and the views are simply awesome.

Beautiful mountain peak that is easy to reach. The hike goes through the land of sheep, which are really everywhere. From the top you have a great panoramic view and especially of the picturesque Dogsbay.

Just walk a little further and you will find a small, beautiful, secluded beach

The path along the road to the entrance at the gate is not so nice. With luck you can find a spot on the side. We started from Dogs Bay Beach, so it was a bit tough to get to the nice part of the path

Simply enjoy the panoramic view

It's worth the short detour to visit the beautiful Dog's Bay. It has a unique horseshoe shape and is sheltered by the headland. It is a great place for a swim and is popular for paddlesports. Make sure you take a close look at the sand as it is actually tiny fragments of pure white shells.

Lough Emlaghnabehy sits amongst a beautiful landscape of countless lakes. The path is lined with boardwalks so you can run across the bog without getting your feet wet.

In 1901 Guglielmo Marconi transmitted a wireless message from Poldhu in Cornwall to Newfoundland. This was a huge achievement and heralded the dawn of a completely new way of communicating. Marconi found it difficult to establish profitable communications between Poldu and Canada so moved his wireless station as far west as he could, here next to Lough Emlaghnabehy.It was partially burnt down in 1922 and closed down. There are information boards at the site which give further details of its history.
