The "Bassewitz fountain" was inaugurated in 2007 based on a design by the artist Jan Witte-Kropius for the 770th anniversary of the town of Kyritz. The depiction of the brave Kyritz women who are said to have poured hot porridge over the head of the robber baron Bassewitz is a successful realization of the artist's idea and the Bassewitz legend. The Bassewitz fountain was awarded the "Monument of the Month" by the AG Historische Stadtkerne des Landes Brandenburg in October 2007.
