Beautiful forest path for cycling

The name sounds unusual, but its meaning is quite clear. It comes from the Middle High German word "kapfen," meaning to look, especially to look in astonishment or to gawk. The name "Rauher Kapf" thus refers to a hill with a viewpoint and poor or infertile soil. The name must have originated at a time when the hill was cleared and perhaps used as a sheep pasture. Today, this vantage point offers a good view towards Schönaich, the Schönbuch Nature Park, and, in good weather, a view as far as the Swabian Alb.

Almost always sunny on the bench. Almost always clear. Perfect for a pit stop, and you can either continue on through the Schaichtal valley, or come from there, or turn right at the bench onto a small trail that's easy to ride in the dry and takes you up the hill toward the B27.
